SP8: Cochrane Haematological Malignancies Group

The Cochrane Haematological Malignancies Group prepares and maintains a series of up-to-date, critical and systematic reviews of healthcare interventions in the area of defined haematological malignancies, using predominantly randomised controlled trial evidence. To achieve this, the group is international and multidisciplinary (www.chmg.de).
This project has a strong emphasis on evidence-based medicine (EBM) and follows strict international Cochrane Collaboration guidelines (www.cochrane.org).

Objectives:

The CHMG aims to:

  • prepare, maintain and promote the accessibility of systematic reviews on the management of haematological malignancies
  • maintain a specialised trials register
  • facilitate and encourage health consumer involvement
  • establish a comprehensive network of clinicians, scientists and patient representatives which is international and multidisciplinary

The scope of the CHMG has a clear focus on the diagnosis and treatment of haematological malignancies. In this context, the review activities of the CHMG include the following disease entities and interventions:

  • Hodgkin's lymphoma
  • Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
  • Multiple myeloma
  • Bone marrow and stem cell transplantation
  • Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia
  • Acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukaemia
  • Chronic myeloid leukaemia
  • Myelodysplastic syndromes
  • Aplastic anaemia

The CHMG is open to new contributors and participation is voluntary.
