Radiation therapy is an established treatment modality for malignant lymphoma which demands high technical standards
and a wide experience in planning and performance of treatment.
To assure quality of radiotherapy for patients with malignant lymphomas the German Lymphoma Study Groups established
radiotherapy reference centers. So, an individual treatment recommendation based on medical imaging data can be
provided for every patient enrolled in clinical trials and quality of realisation of radiotherapy will be recorded.
The challenge of this project is to set up the necessary infrastructure for electronic exchange of digital medical
imaging and to provide telemedical conferences, to simplify and enhance communication between participating study
centers and the radiotherapy reference center and between the experts of different reference centers. So, all
management decisions and measures to assure treatment quality also for difficult clinical settings can be made quickly
and without delay. The long term objective is to connect all participating institutions and departments of radiotherapy
to establish an integrated system of communication.
