The Eastern German Study Group for Haematology and Oncology (OSHO) has been established out of the former
association for haematology and blood transfusion of the German Democratic Republic. In November 1998, the OSHO was
successfully registered as a society. Currently there are 142 ordinary and 20 extra-ordinary members.
The OSHO is active in a broad spectrum of haematology and oncology clinical trials with focus being the area of
malignant lymphomas. Additionally, the group aims to extent the function as a centre for basic and advanced educational
training.
